Hi everyone, Kerem is reporting from the Field. We continue with the Alternanza Scuola Lavoro, which we have been doing at the Liceo Statale "P. Siciliani" school. The workshops were designed to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality and to provide students with the tools they need to promote gender equality in their own communities. During the workshops, we explored a variety of topics related to gender equality, such as the impact of gender stereotypes on individuals and society, the importance of consent, and the ways in which we can all work to create a more equal and inclusive society. We used a variety of interactive activities, such as role-playing exercises and group discussions, to engage the students and encourage them to think critically about the issues at hand. One particularly noteworthy moment from the workshops was when one of the students shared their personal experience of feeling constrained by gender stereotypes. This sparked a deep and meaningful discussion about how we can all work to challenge these stereotypes and create a more equal society. The students were clearly moved by this conversation and many of them expressed a desire to take action in their own communities. This month, we offered students the opportunity to do their own projects so that they can make a difference in their communities. The students, to whom we gave full-fledged project management and project design, developed their projects every week. As of the beginning of next month, the development phase of the projects will be over and we will have come to the end of these workshops. Throughout the workshops, the students were engaged, curious, and open to learning. They showed a lot of interest in the topics and were eager to share their own thoughts and experiences. They also showed a lot of empathy and understanding towards the different perspectives discussed. Overall, the workshops were a great success and I am proud of the progress we made in raising awareness about gender equality among the students. I hope that the students will continue to think critically about these issues and work to promote gender equality in their own communities. As we move forward, I am excited to continue this work and to see the impact it will have on the students and the community at large.
